哈尔滨工业大学模式识别与智能系统研究中心成立于2002年,其前身是1982年计算机应用技术领域知名学者、国务院政府特殊津贴专家舒文豪教授创建的文字研究室(后更名为模式识别与智能系统教研室)。

80年代初,科研团队主要从事汉字、语音、图形、计算机控制方面的研究。陆续在手写、印刷字符识别、掌上手写电脑、人体生物鉴别、超声智能在线检测、纸币清分机、计算机控制系统、人体运动分析、视频文本分析、超声医学图像处理、视频跟踪、目标检测以及多分类器融合等方面的研究达到国内领先和国际先进水平。“联机手写体汉字识别系统”获国家科技进步三等奖奖;“纸币图像分析技术及其在系列产品中的应用”获黑龙江省科技进步一等奖。

近年来,研究中心继续在模式识别、图像处理及机器学习等方面继续深入开展科学研究;同时,在面向航天的智能系统和设备方面承担并完成了大量科学研究和设备研制任务。研究中心将理论研究成果与工程应用实践紧密结合,以创新的方法解决了航天智能系统和设备研制过程中的实际问题,完成了“地球敏感器地球扁率分析和导航精度验证”、“基于图像分析的月球取样机械臂1/6重力随动系统”、“航天器全物理仿真超大平台检测系统”、“嫦娥5号返回器与轨道器交会对接动态模拟器”等重点型号研制项目。

目前,研究中心科研力量主要运用在“不确定环境下的主动感知、测量建模、任务规划、预测与决策”相关范畴的智能理论研究、算法技术研发及智能系统研制。在航天、冰雪领域之外,还开展了相关工业领域的机器人或无人系统构建,专长于视觉测量、自主导航、过程监测等,且在深度学习、强化学习、迁移学习、具身智能等方面技术较成熟,部分技术已应用在型号任务或实现产业化落地,产生了较好的社会效益。

未来,研究中心将继续在教育教学和科研创新上践行“规格严格、功夫到家”的校训精神;秉承“立德树人”的培养理念,为国家和社会输送德才兼备的本硕博毕业生。


Pattern Recognition and Intelligence System Research Center


Pattern Recognition and Intelligence System Research Center (PRIS Research Center) currently has 10 faculties, including 2 doctoral supervisors, 2 professors, 7 associate professors. Main research fields include pattern recognition, image processing, machine learning and active vision.

In 1980’s, PRIS Research Center took the lead in conducting handwritten Chinese character recognition research in domestic. The first Personal Digital Assistant, PDA, was developed at the beginning of 1990’s, pioneered the handwritten/handwriting Chinese character recognition technology application in China. The achievement was awarded the first National Prize for Progress in Science and Technology.

In the late 1990’s, we applied character recognition and image processing technology in financial equipment R&D on the basis of theoretical research in pattern recognition and machine learning. In 2003, the first paper-currency sorting machine was produced. By that we own independent intellectual property rights and lead the application of artificial intelligence technology in the financial equipment field. The achievements won the first prize for Progress in Science and Technology of Heilongjiang Province in 2009.

At present, the main research power of PRIS Research Center concentrated in active perception and man-computer symbiosis in uncertain environment related category, of doing intelligence theory study, algorithm development and technology application. We are developing forward-looking researches in the aspect of deep space small body scientific detection and spacecraft in-orbit intelligence services; we are developing smart ice stadium & ski resort, as well as big sports data analysis; also, we are doing medical image processing and big data analysis based on ultrasonic images orientation to the people's well-being needs.

PRIS Research Center adheres to joint connection of theoretical research and practical application, meeting the social needs and serving the citizen livelihood. Totally, we completed more than 40 scientific research projects, including National High-tech R&D Program of China (863 Program), National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), Ministerial Foundation Program and key scientific and technological projects. We gained 1 prize for National Science and Technology Progress Award and 10 prizes for Ministerial Science and Technology Progress Award. Over 400 papers have been published in/at domestic and international academic journals and conferences, 200 of which indexed by SCI and EI.
